Ajax and Governance

I have been actively following Ajax's governance - and therefore also its leadership and culture - for some time now. I spoke about it several times on BNR Nieuwsradio, which meant that I really had to delve into the structure and the players within that governance. What fascinates me is how visible and discussable everything becomes that makes governance interesting. Certainly an organization that is both a football club and listed on the stock exchange makes it interesting. Can you be two things at the same time? Or is it better to choose? I personally think that people are not very good at dealing with complexity. At least, individuals may be, but not when groups have to work together towards a common goal. Then it is better to keep it as simple as possible. People and governance form a complex dynamic, in which many conflicts and unsaid things can arise. So it is better to avoid that complexity as much as possible.
